WOW! 7 songs included gratis! Extremely effective app to help children learn food names.

It is an interactive exercise of reinforcing speech sound practice & word production. Appropriate for children 2 years to early elementary age. It has 3 OPTIONS.

**** This App is ONLY for iPad 2, iPad3 and iOS 6.0 or HIGHER

Option 2:
1.Helps children with consonants such as “k” or “g,” you would select carrots, cake, cookies, eggs, grapes, burger, etc.
2.Final consonant sounds. Pick food items such as: bread, steak, grape, and others.
3.Speech sound practice across single-syllable, two-syllable, and 3-4 syllable words (increasing complexity).
4.Phoneme practice targeting earlier acquired speech sounds, including /p,b,m/ (making use of the pause button as needed).
5.With young children the repetition of ‘no no no’ and ‘yum yum yum’ allows for greater participation/comfort/comprehension of the expectation of their ‘part.’
6.Identification of common foods.
7.Practice –s markers for plurals (grapes, beans, meatballs, etc.)
8.Assign a gender to the monkey, and practice the subject and possessive pronouns he/his (i.e. He eats his pizza.’) and she/her (i.e. She eats her popcorn.’)
9.Direction-following.
10.Expanding vocabulary knowledge.
11.Targeting food groups/categories as a classification task.
12.Creating a balanced ‘meal’ for the monkey.
13.Discussion attributes of different foods.
14.Additional attributes—which one is cold? Warm/hot? Sweet? Sour?
15.Recall of food items used in the game, as a memory-type task.
16.Description of food items used with the monkey for a ‘can you guess what this is’?-type game.

Use of the pause button as needed to allow for repetition, correction, self-correction, multiple opportunities for practice. You can also turn off the volume and teach children to choose the correct item by you reading the word.

OPTION 1
A child plays alone by selecting one of the options: play using 1 food item only (the least advanced), using 2 items, and using 3 items. Just let your child play and have fun!

OPTION 2 (more info)
This is where the true power of this app comes. Based on the child’s speech needs, you can strategically pick words (from the list of 69 purposefully chosen foods/words) for practice. And again, whether the child plays with no adult OR with adult supervision he/she can select from the following 3 options:
using 1 food item only (the least advanced), using 2 items, and using 3 items (the most advanced).
When starting, enter a name of the player(s) by tapping in the text box - a keyboard will appear. Hit ENTER/RETURN when done. The name will be stored.

OPTION 3
In this option we are fully implementing this powerful concept by combining our songs (only those food-related) with our song sheets. OPTION 3 is not interactive.

What you can:

1. Pause the app/song
Some of these songs are perfect for “acting out,” either with actual objects or during the daily routines that correspond with the lyrics. We encourage you to use objects. Show the objects as you sing.
2. Practice the songs ANYWHERE - in the car, in the bathroom, in the kitchen, in the bedroom.
3. Sing these songs W/O playing the music at times. Parents and teachers who break into spontaneous singing are taking advantage of the true power of music.
